Elliot Brown Watches introduces the Arne Field watch launched exclusively with Time Tide.
From the earliest genesis of the wristwatch the simple clear dialled military watch born out of World War I, has been a staple of many brands. With such dramatic early names as ‘The Skirmisher’, ‘The campaign Watch’ and The Territorial, the field watch was born.
“Despite it’s often violent beginnings, there’s something warm and captivating in putting on a field watch, it’s like having an old friend with you.” Ian Elliot – Co-Founder
At Elliot Brown, we have for many years visited and revisited the idea of a field watch, but it never felt quite right until 2024 when we launched Arne a 38mm Swiss quartz field watch named after the 1400-acre nature reserve in Dorset. We knew we were onto a winner when the whole production sold out in three minutes.
This model uses a new dial process for EB - fumé - where the centre of the dial is lighter than the outside. With an embossed dial and a subtle matt metallic texture in the paint, the darker periphery adds contrast that makes the numerals easier to read as well as adding an almost tropical sun-bleached-dial feel from a life lived outdoors.
The beautifully soft dark brown German leather strap is fitted with a signed screw in buckle and a (removable) cuff/bund containing the vintage outdoors vibe. Complete with period appropriate non fitted ends
