Type 2 UJ watches purchased now will begin shipping mid June 2025

Founded in New York City by three Romanian-American brothers in 1921, BENRUS has been making history for more than a century. The Type 2 is a legend within the military watch sphere, seeing service with elite units during the Vietnam War and beyond — service that, in many cases, is still under wraps.

Introduced as a revision of the Type 1 design, approximately 10,000 Type 2s were produced from 1972 to 1980. BENRUS has riffed on the classic Type 2 formula by coating its 41.5mm steel case in bronze PVD, offering a rich contrast against the Type 2 UJ’s green dial. A distressed brown strap provides the final accent, a fittingly rugged choice for the 200m water-resistant military dive watch. 

Beating inside the Benrus Type 2 UJ is the ETA 2892. A Swiss-made automatic caliber, it features 21 jewels, hacking, hand winding, a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, and a power reserve of at least 42 hours.
